Press Release
BSP SUPREMO-KUM. MAYAWATI SOUTH INDIA TOUR FROM 20 TO 23 DEC. 2008
After the Bahujan Samaj Party's major achievement in number of seats as well as vote percentage in the recently held assembly elections in the states of Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, BSP National President and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Bahen Kum. Mayawatiji is scheduled to dash the South Indian States- Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, from 20th December to 23 December for the massive public “SARVAJAN SAMAJ BROTHERHOOD MAHARALLIES” organized by the respective BSP state units.
In the last few years, BSP has built-up the considerable base of the party in all these Southern states which has been notable from the pressures felt by other political parties in these states. Besides that, in these states, some of the prominent politicians, bureaucrats, MLAs, Ex-MPs and MLAs, and smaller parties have joined the Bahujan Samaj Party. The BSP's policy of Sarvajan Hitay and Sarvajan Sukhay has many takers in south too. As a consequence, like North India, BSP has established itself as the force to be reckoning with.
The failure of UPA-Congress government at the centre in dealing with the issues of poverty, inflation, flood control, farmers death, employment-generation, terrorism-naxalism, law and order, attack on Minorities, rise of fundamentalism, neglect of Scheduled Castes and Tribes, India's foreign policy, reservation in private sector and various other issues related to economic policies of the government at the centre detrimental to the interests of common man as well as of the country and emergence of BSP Supremo as one of the prospective leader to lead in the post-parliamentary election scenario has provided the new impetus for the party in South.
BSP's National President Bahen Kumari Mayawatiji has already deputed from the centre the number of state co-coordinators in each state to monitor the organizational progress. The party in all these states is seriously engaged in the necessary preparations for the coming parliamentary poll, in accordance with the guidelines issued by BSP's National President-Kum. Mayawatiji. The examination of each parliamentary constituency, winning chances as well as the candidate selection all these things are in process. In this parliamentary election, Bahujan Samaj Party in all Southern states is determined to demonstrate it's political strength and to change the so-called settled political equations in these states.
In this scenario Kum. Mayawati is scheduled to address “SARVAJAN SAMAJ BROTHERHOOD MAHARALLIES” on 21 December, 2008 - 2.00 pm at Town Hall Ground in Mysore-Karnataka state, on 22 December, 2008 -5.00 pm at St. Joseph Anglo-Indian Christian School Ground, Chennai-Tamil Nadu and on 23 December -3.00 pm at Nehru Stadium, Kottayam in Kerala. However, Rally at the Vijaywada-Andhra Pradesh is postponed.
In all these Southern States under the direction of Party National President Kum. Mayawatiji respective state units have decided not to have any kind of alliance, or understanding with any other political party for the forthcoming parliamentary election as well as for the assembly election in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Therefore Kum. Mayawati's this tour politically is of significant nature. During her visit several other leaders of various parties will join the Bahujan Samaj Party.
